Palm
Springs Remodel Southwest Architecture
Home Located In Palm Springs - The
original structure was a small 1940's plastered home with the
typical pitched asphalt roof.

For our Clients and Community
This home
remodel is constructed out of
Rastra insulated block (double) wall creating a minimum of
20" thick insulated wall mass with steel truss ceiling/roof.
We completed the home in the year of 1999, some 11 years ago.
We are
currently designing a new home next door using the same construction
material and southwest design. We will publish the project as it
becomes available. The new home design is spectacular. Below are
recent pictures of our 11 year old remodel after the
landscaping matured. This design took advantage of the site
inside/outside relationships.
These Rastra walls have a insulating R value of 48. Most new
homes these days only have a wall insulating value of 19, and that
only occurs between the studs.
Rastra has no studs. The
insulation value is un-interrupted. The exterior walls are concrete
plaster over a composite poly/concrete foam giving substantial
enhanced thermal value (like what is found in old Adobe walled
homes. So you get the best of both worlds - thermal mass plus very
high insulation values.
As we say
here....Just do it. But we also always "do it"
right the first time.
We will post
the next new spectacular home pictures that we are currently
designing soon after it is built. We are excited!
Take care.
