Desert Country Club Remodel
The
original structure was a tired mid 70's small condo style golf
course home. The new home is modern style high ceilings, open
to course views.

For our Clients and Community
This home
was just finished. We worked hard with the home owner to get
the look they wanted; a very open light and airy feel with lots of
sunshine coming in from the 18' wide by 8' tall sectional pocket
doors and fixed windows at the gable end above. We could not exceed
the existing ridge direction or height. We used a shallow open web
scissor truss design (maximum of 1'-4" deep) with reduced (on
center) spacing to match the strength of conventional rafters and
retain the ceiling space. This style of construction is
usually accomplished with conventional rafters only. This truss
design allowed us the large spans without requiring the obnoxious
(view robbing) ridge beam used in conventional stack framing.
As you walk into the front entry, your eyes are immediately drawn to
the spectacular rearward view of the golf course with the beautiful
mountains beyond.
Of course,
the landscaping is low water drought tolerant. The walls and
windows have high insulation values. The tile floors provide
the cooling effect of a large thermal mass area. Coupled that
with double zoned air conditioning units provides for reasonable
summer utility bills.
